Lagala - Viticoltori in Vulture

It is passion that leads men to carry out deeds and reach achievements. It was the passion for flying and adventure that led the leggendary Major Mario De Bernardi, pilot during world war one, to be the first man to fly faster than 500 Km/ph and to win the Schneider trophy, to the extent to gain the name of "Aquila del Vulture".

And it was passion again, but for arts and religion, that made, the noble Pirro Del Balzo, nobleman and duke of Venosa and prince of Altamura, build around the year 1470 Venosa's cathedral.

Thus was passion for the tradition, culture and quality to have convinced Mr. Antonio LAGALA to start up a winemaking business within his own farm, just outside Venosa in the county called contrada La Maddalena. This is why for the names of the main products from his canteen, Antonio LAGALA was inspired by these two famous people.
